Signed Books, New Look, and a Bookmark

Saturday, February 17th, 2018

portraitforcoverfbAs the release date for Portrait of a Sister (my first women’s fiction novel) draws closer, I find myself with all sorts of things to tell you.

1. I’m working on scheduling a bunch of events to coincide with the book’s launch. I’ll be posting those under “events” once everything is finalized, but for now I can tell you that I’ll be signing at Aaron’s Books in Lititz, PA from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 30th. I’m working on another event in Lancaster County that evening, but I’ll share those details when they’re worked out. In the meantime, if you’d like to attend the event at Aaron’s…OR you’d like to pre-order a book from the store for me to sign (you can arrange to have them ship it to you the first week of July), you can do that HERE.

2. Sometime in the next month or so, my website will be getting a new look. My daughter is really good at creating websites and so I’m handing it over to her to redo. I know I’ll be adding a photo page, as well as a “for bookclub” page that will include bonus questions over and above those in the back of Portrait of a Sister. Beyond that, you’ll have to come back to see what else we’re doing. 🙂

bookmark3. See this really pretty bookmark right here? You can have one if you send a self-addressed/stamped business-sized envelope (SASE) to me at:

Laura Bradford
PO Box 1451
Yorktown Heights, NY 10598

*Please note, that if you don’t send a business-sized envelope, the bookmark will have to be folded.

Be sure to stop back soon as there is lots happening around here these days!

Hugs,

~Laura

Dial M For Mousse–Both “Fun” & “Yummy”

Sunday, January 21st, 2018

dialMformousse_layout.inddDial M For Mousse, the latest installment in my Emergency Dessert Squad Mysteries, has been making quite a  splash these past few weeks with fun reviews and folks trying out some of Winnie’s latest emergency recipes. So I thought I’d share some of them here with all of you.

First, some of the reviews…

~”Author Laura Bradford has one again delivered a mystery treat that I couldn’t put down! DIAL M FOR MOUSSE was a fast moving, full-flavored read that made me hungry for more with every page I read.”
(You can read the full review from Lisa K’s Book Reviews HERE)

~”The series is strong with an excellent plot that has a great climax through the who done it. I am always eager to team up with Winnie as she is an excellent sleuth and a sweet character.”
(You can read the full review from Bibliophile Reviews HERE)

~”This was an incredibly entertaining read filled with delicious sweets and all kinds of fantastic cozy style puns.” (You can  read the full review from I Wish I Lived in a Library BlogSpot HERE)

If you, too, have read Dial M For Mousse and enjoyed it, I’d sure appreciate you telling your friends and/or posting a review. Word of mouth is important.

Now for the recipes. 🙂

Cinnamon & Sugar and a Little Bit of Murder reviewed Dial M for Mousse as well (she loved it!), but she also baked Winnie’s Your Jokes Make Me Snicker-Doodle Cookies for her post.  Don’t they look delicious??

You can find her post and review HERE.

And finally, there are the readers who came to my recent Wingdale, New York library event with treats they made from Winnie’s recipe.  One are the Your Jokes Make Me Snicker-Doodle cookies, and the other are the Now You See ‘Em, Now You Do’nuts.  Since I tried both, Winnie would be very pleased! 🙂

A New Book and Some Holiday Fun!

Tuesday, December 5th, 2017

Feeling a little overwhelmed by your holiday to-do list? Well, sometimes the best way to feel a little less overwhelmed is to take some time for yourself…with a cup of hot cocoa and a book.

ipadvertical_768x1024deathgoesIf that sounds good to you, might I suggest the just-released AND DEATH GOES TO… (Tobi Tobias Mystery # 3)?  This book is chock full of laugh out loud moments that make that much needed “you” time even more fun!

From the back of the book:

The Tobias Ad Agency is in the running for the coveted Golden Storyboard, and Tobi couldn’t be more thrilled—until she discovers it’s literally an award to die for.

It’s an honor just to be nominated. But, let’s get real, Tobi wants to win. The St. Louis Advertising Awards are like the Oscars for her field, and Tobi is up for its most prestigious prize, Best Overall Ad Campaign. The competition is always fierce, but this year it’s killer . . .

Despite her high hopes, Tobi isn’t exactly shocked when she doesn’t win. But she is shocked when the winner, Deidre Ryan, takes the stage only to plummet to her death as a platform suddenly gives way. After the police discover foul play, Tobi’s Grandpa Stu wastes no time in nominating suspects. But was Deidre the intended victim—or was someone else meant to take the fatal fall? Now it’s a race to catch a killer in the spotlight, before another nominee gets the booby prize and Tobi gets trapped in a no-win situation.

***

AND DEATH GOES TO… is available in e-format ($5.99) and a trade paperback ($15)–both which can be purchased from all your favorite online book vendors. Purchase links can be found Here on my website.

Basic RGBIn other news, I’m  hosting a “Big News” Countdown on my Facebook author page from now until Dec. 19th (when I reveal all three parts of my “big news”–news I think you, my readers, are really going to like). So if you’re on Facebook, be sure to pop onto my page every day and see what’s up for grabs that day. Hope to see you there!
